In addition to monitoring both the spread of COVID-19 and any recommendations by the CDC, here are a few preventative measures that can be taken:
Students, faculty and staff should stay home if they have any symptoms of respiratory illness.
Frequent hand washing for at least 20 seconds before meals, after using the restroom and whenever hands are visibly dirty.
Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.
Cough etiquette. Always cover cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash and thoroughly wash your hands immediately. If tissues are not available, cough into the inside of the elbow.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Individual hand sanitizer suggested.
Based on evolving U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, if any member of the household is in self-quarantine because they have been in contact with a person who has contracted COVID-19 or their workplace or school have been closed due to COVID-19, students are required to stay in place at home for a 14-day observation period. In the event that any symptoms are noticed, students should seek immediate medical attention.
Regarding Communication:
We will continue to clearly communicate with our school community any updates we receive regarding the coronavirus via email to the email address on record and through the Parent Portal.
If you are a parent of a current student and do not receive regular emails from us, please send an email to
mguarisco@guerinprep.org to update your contact information.
Thank you.
